Common questions

Before you get in touch.

Do I need a legal report or clinical care?

A medico-legal assessment addresses questions raised in a legal matter. Clinical care is for assessment, diagnosis or treatment of mental health concerns. For assessment or treatment, enquire about clinical care. If you are unsure which service to ask about, give the team a brief outline when you enquire.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Say which service you are interested in and how to contact you. For a legal report, include the report type and any deadline. Please leave out medical records, detailed medical history and identifying case information; ask the team how to provide anything needed later.

Does an enquiry book an appointment?

No. An enquiry starts a conversation with the team. Availability, any referral requirements, fees and arrangements need to be discussed before an appointment or instruction is confirmed.

Where can I find fees?

See the Fees page for published assessment prices and the medico-legal hourly rate. A starting price is not a confirmed total; the cost depends on the service and agreed work.

Can an appointment be online or in person?

Ask the team to confirm the format and location suitable for your assessment or report before making arrangements. Our consultation guidance explains what to check.
